Debra Lin “Debbie” Stortzum, age 64, of Ramsey, IL passed away on February 22, 2026.

Debbie was born March 20, 1961 in Flora, IL the daughter of James and Shirley Pierson. She married Charles “Chuck” Stortzum on April 3, 2004. Debbie was a retired educator for Ramsey School. She was very family oriented and she loved her Kids and grandkids’ more than anything. She loved to go shopping and out to eat with her girls, she was a proud supporter of her grandkid’s sports, and she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with Chuck. She also loved her dog Roxy very much. Debbie was very crafty and enjoyed flower arranging, refinishing furniture, and cooking. She had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Shirley Pierson of Flora, IL; husband, Chuck Stortzum of Ramsey, IL; daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Buenker of Teutopolis, IL and Mindi (Tim) Knebel of Vandalia, IL; step-children, Joni (Mark) Pierson and Shane (Stephanie) Stortzum; grandchildren, Ayden and Kaleb Buenker, Blake and Kiley Knebel, Megan, Kadie, and Shelly Pierson, Emma, Leah and Sadie Stortzum; brothers Jeff (Christy) Pierson and Mark (Joni) Pierson; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Pierson and her mother and father-in-law, Lester and Lorene Stortzum.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (17684 E 1st Ave.) in Louisville, IL with Pastor Joseph Muench officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, both at the church. Burial will follow funeral services at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, located at the church in Louisville. Memorials can be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
