Cumberland won while Neoga lost in the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Boys Basketball Regional Monday evening.
Cumberland put its game into the victory column early with a 28-8 opening quarter run against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
Zack Harmon nailed four baskets for eight points in the first period while Cameron Roedl, Reed Miller and Kaleb Bierman tallied five each.
In the second quarter, Cumberland continued on with a 20-16 edge to lead 48-24 at halftime.
Roedl fired in three from beyond the arc, and hit a free throw for 10 points.
Cumberland had a 29-13 second half. Chase Stewart put in three trifectas for nine points in the third quarter. Gavin Wormhoudt scored five in the final quarter while Griffin Saylor and Landon Finn knocked down a three-pointer each.
Roedl led the way with 15 points on five field goals, four of those three-pointers, and one of one at the line. Harmon added 13 while Isaac Venatta chipped in with 10.
The Pirates hit 10 three-pointers. Roedl with four and Stewart three.
Neoga saw its season come to a close, suffering a 59-43 loss to Moweaqua Central A&M.
Neoga held a 13-12 opening quarter lead as Brayden Ray scored 10 of his team’s 13 points while Malik Coy hit a three-pointer.
But Central A&M came back with a 14-4 second period to lead 20-17 at halftime.
Central A&M went on for a 19-11 third quarter to lead 45-28.
Neoga had a 15-14 final period edge.
Neoga was led by Ray with 20 points on 10 field goals. Kaden Bryant chipped in with 10.
In other games in the regional, Casey-Westfield pounded Chrisman, 105-49 and Broadlands Heritage downed Arcola, 61-28.
Casey-Westfield and Broadlands Heritage meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by Cumberland taking on Central A&M at 7:30.
The winners will advance to the championship game Friday at 7 p.m.
