 North Clay Notches Win

The North Clay Cardinals used a high scoring second quarter to take control of their matchup with Wayne City Wednesday night claiming an 84-52 victory.

The Cardinals were up 19-15 after the first quarter, then exploded with 27 points in the second period, holding Wayne City to 12 for a 46-27 lead at halftime.

North Clay continued to push their advatage in the third quarter with a 22-13 scoring advantage before cruising to the 84-52 victory.

Carder Walden made five of the Cardinals nine 3’s and led the team with 21 points. Mason Byers and Cody Zimdars each finished with 19. Lucas Griffey was also in double figures with 14. Kade Atwood added four points, three points for Collin Schnepper, and two each for Cooper Lewis and Grant Probst rounded out the scoring for North Clay.

With the win North Clay is 21-8 with one remaining regular game remaining Friday with South Central.

Wayne City claimed wins in the JV game 53-46, as well as the Fresh/Soph contest 53-31.
