CONWAY, Ark. – Graduate guard Shae Littleford was named the ASUN Newcomer of the Week, the ASUN announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor came after a dynamite week for the Sugar Bear, who has helped lead her team to five-straight wins.

Littleford has continued to be a highlight for the women’s basketball team this year, leading the Sugar Bears and ranking third in the ASUN in scoring with 14.3 points per game. She also ranks third in the ASUN with 89 free throws, sixth with 42 three-pointers, and fourth with 44 steals.

This past week, she led Central Arkansas to wins over EKU and Bellarmine, the former coming against the previously unbeaten Colonels. With Littleford leading the charge, the Sugar Bears held EKU to its lowest point total of the season, allowing just 48 points to a team averaging over 70 points per game. It marked the fourth-straight game allowing less than 50 points, and the win over Bellarmine added to that run. Littleford tallied a game-high 18 points against EKU, adding five rebounds and a steal against the conference’s top-ranked team.

Littleford earned her second Newcomer of the Week award, and has been a terrific addition to the Sugar Bears this season. She’s scored in double-figures in all but four games this season, and has led Central Arkansas to the No. 3 seed in the ASUN Championship with four games remaining on the schedule.

The Sugar Bears are back at home on Wednesday, hosting Austin Peay in the Farris Center. Tip-off against the Governors is set for 6:30 p.m.
