COWDEN — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was a winner over Effingham Sacred Heart in both seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball play Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats claimed a 26-24, 25-12 win in seventh-grade play. Elli Wheeler led in kills with five, aces with six and digs with six. Brooke Tucker had eight assists.

In the eighth-grade match, CHBC was a 25-13, 25-13 winner.

Hadley Pope led in aces with five and had nine assists. Anna Hart and Valentina Doty had two digs each. Reece Vaughn finished with five kills.

At Cowden

Seventh-Grade Match

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis played host to Altamont and swept the night Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade match, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15.

Altamont was led by Adriana Starnes with five aces, Roslyn Kalber with three assists, Cali Ruffner with four kills and one block and Starnes and Brooklyn Burner with three digs each.

T-town then took the eighth-grade contest, 20-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Altamont was led by Teegan Burrus with 12 assists, two blocks and eight digs and Payton Ort with eight kills and four aces.

In the C match, the Shoes won 25-12, 25-11.

At Teutopolis

Seventh-Grade Match

At Effingham

Effingham played host to Charleston and won both seventh- and eighth-grade contests Tuesday.

The Mustangs improved to 9-4 on the season with a 25-20, 25-22 win in seventh-grade.

Sophia Wiedman led in aces with 10 while Anna Gouchenouer had four kills, Rosie Schmidt three assists and Kynlie Rohr four digs.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham was a 25-20, 25-15 winner and moved above the .500 mark with a 7-6 record.

Mackynzie Hites, Madalyn Hoffman and Kendyl Smith led in kills with three each. Kenley Moore had 10 aces and eight assists. Kloey Bierman led in digs with three.

Effingham is back in action Thursday at Altamont.

At Casey

Jasper County was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade play over Casey-Westfield Tuesday evening.

Jasper County won the seventh-grade contest, 25-16, 25-16 to improve to 10-2 on the season.

Cleaver led in aces with seven while Hartrich had four kills. Ginder led in assists with four, Ochs in digs with three and H. Wolf and Wagner with one block each.

In the eighth-grade match, Jasper County improved to 11-5 with 25-22, 25-13 wins.

Hall led in blocks with three. Jansen had four digs and Mulvey nine assists. Briscoe led in kills with four and Mulvey in aces with five.

Jasper County is back in action Thursday at Charleston.

At Casey

At Louisville

North Clay defeated Dieterich in both seventh- and eight-grade action Tuesday.

North Clay won the seventh-grade match, 25-12, 18-25, 15-7.

In eighth-grade play, North Clay was a 25-8, 25-12 winner and improved to 8-0 in the JNTC and 17-0 overall.

North Clay is back in action Thursday at South Central.

 

At Neoga

Neoga fell to Mattoon in both matches Tuesday evening.

Mattoon won the seventh-grade contest, 25-21, 25-20.

In eighth-grade play, Mattoon was a 25-14, 25-16 winner.
