Marcia K. Bowlin, 72, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at her home.
Per Marcia’s wishes, a private cremation burial will be held at Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Marcia was born on January 21, 1954 in Effingham IL, the daughter of Paul and Jeannene (Eirhart) Henkelman. She married James Bowlin Sr. in 1969, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2025. Marcia was compassionate and selfless, one who always put others before herself. A devoted mother and loving wife, she dearly loved her husband Jim, and he dearly loved her back. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as cooking delicious meals, card games and dice, and trips to the casino.
Marcia is survived by her children, Rhonda Bowlin (Karla Nagel), Jamie (Stacey) Bowlin, Tracy Bowlin, and Brian Bowlin; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Tom Henkelman, Jerry Henkelman (Susan), Cheryl Levitt, Jim Henkelman (Karen Patterson), Joe Henkelman (Monica), Richard Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, James Bowlin Sr.; son, James W. Bowlin Jr.; granddaughters, Taylor Charles and Dariane Weis; brother-in-law, Larry Levitt; and sister-in-law, Debbie Hampton.
