Dieterich school board members Monday set a tentative date for the Dieterich High School graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at 2pm.
Elementary Principal Josh Benefiel updated the Board on the progress of Pre-K and Kindergarten screening for next school year. Screenings will take place in March. Also, Benefiel and junior-senior high school principal Mike McCollum updated the Board on the progress of scheduling for next school year. The elementary school will be transitioning from a six-day schedule to a more traditional five-day schedule.
The Board renewed the one-year contract of Benefiel for the coming school year, and approved a one-year Dean of Students contract for Ryan Wohltman for the coming school year. The Board also reassigned third grade teacher Beth Sturgeon to junior high Math teacher for the coming school year; hired Barbara Kreke and Cassie Campton as sub bus drivers; approved a leave of absence for support staff member Brandi Wendte during September; and adjusted the cheer coaching stipends for this year.
The Board reviewed options for the calendar for the coming school year with final recommendations coming in March.
