The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program each month. Athletes are nominated by head coaches and then voted on by all coaches. Winners receive recognition and a Treign Athlete of the Month shirt. Nomination criteria is as follows: Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship
Alivia Lauritzen — JH Volleyball (7th Grade)
Alivia works hard everyday in practice to improve. She consistently has the best form in the backrow. She hits and serves aggressively. In addition to being a very talented volleyball player she has a good attitude and is positive to her teammates. — Coach Laurie Bohnhoff
Calvin Beck — JH Boys Basketball (8th Grade)
Calvin really stepped up after Christmas, averaging 10 ppg over our last 9 games, hitting double digits in 5 of those games, and 8 points in 2 others. Calvin continued to work on his post moves & shot around the basket and really played big when we needed him most. Calvin was coachable, always showed good sportsmanship & his future is bright. It was a pleasure to be his Coach this season. — Coach Rod Wiethop
