COWDEN — Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Stewardson-Strasburg split junior high volleyball victories Thursday evening.
Stew-Stras was the winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16.
Leading CHBC were Mya Well with five kills, Mila Wakefield with six aces, Brooke Tucker with nine assists and Elli Wheeler with 10 digs.
In eighth-grade action, CHBC won 25-9, 25-8.
Hadley Pope led in assists with six and digs with two. Alyson Lawrence and Anna Hart had two digs each. Reece Vaughn led in aces with eight. Hart led in kills with four.

North Clay came calling and downed Altamont in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Thursday.
North Clay won the seventh-grade match 25-16, 23-15, 25-22.
Altamont was led by Cali Ruffner and Blakely McClellan with five aces each, McClellan with two assists, Ruffner with three kills and Amelia Neu with four digs. The team is now 0-10 on the season.
North Clay won the eighth-grade match, 25-21, 25-17.
Altamont was led by Aubrey Roberts with two aces, Teegan Burrus withi two assists, Payton Ort with three kills and two blocks and Kinze Polk with four digs.
