Effingham St. Anthony and Breese Central split victories in freshman/sophomore boys basketball Saturday.
The Bulldogs claimed a 42-39 victory. Breese Central led 11-8 after the opening quarter and 20-16 at halftime. Breese Central led 28-26 going into the final quarter when St. Anthony rallied with a 16-11 run to pull out the 42-39 victory.
Logan Gowin led in scoring with 12 points for the Bulldogs. Mason Storm added eight and Camden Bloemer seven.
Breese Central edged St. Anthony, 17-16 in a game played in two quarters.
