Effingham County Clerk Michelle Kollmann has announced that voters can cast a ballot prior to the March 17, 2026 General Primary Election beginning Thursday February 5.
Early Voting will be conducted in the Benson Wood Room, 1st Floor, of the Effingham County Office Building at 101 N. Fourth Street in Effingham.
Illinois State Statutes prohibit a person who voted during early voting from voting at the polls on Election Day. The votes cast during the early voting time period will not be tabulated until after the polls close on Election Day.
For the March 17, 2026 General Primary Election, Early Voting will be conducted from Thursday, February 5, 2026 through Monday, March 16, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon).

The Republican and Democratic specimen ballots are now on the County website. www.effinghamcountyil.gov.
