Effingham Sacred Heart won its on Class 8-1A Boys Basketball Regional Wednesday evening.
The Shamrocks defeated Sigel St. Michael, 36-26.
Sacred Heart will next face the winner of the Jerseyville St. Francis HG Regional. Jerseyville St. Francis HG goes against Madison at 6 p.m today followed by Carrollton St. Johns against Venice ES at 7:15.
The winners will then meet Friday at 6 p.m. for the regional championship.
The winner of that regional then faces Effingham Sacred Heart Monday at 6 p.m. in the Sigel St. Michael Sectional.
Class 8-2A Stew-Stras Regional
Stewardson-Strasburg edged out to a 12-9 opening quarter lead on Effingham St. Anthony in the Class 8-2A Stew-Stras Regional Wednesday evening.
The squad then led 23-18 at halftime. St. Anthony came back with a 12-6 third quarter to move ahead 30-29 going into the final period. Stew-Stras then edged St. Anthony 9-7 for a 38-37 regional championship.
Pruemer scored 20 for the winners while Duncan added nine.
St. Anthony was led by Schumacher with nine points and Phillips with seven.
Stew-Stras improved to a perfect 25-0 on the season and will now head to the North Clay Sectional Monday and will face the winner of the Casey-Westfield Regional, either Casey-Westfield or Villa Grove. Those two teams play today at 6 p.m.

At Casey
Casey-Westfield was a 50-32 winner over Neoga in the opening game of the evening at the 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional.
In the second game, Villa Grove downed Hutsonville, 39-25.
Casey-Westfield and Villa Grove will meet at 6 p.m. today for the regional championship.
At Robinson
Teutopolis will take on Marshall at 6 p.m. today while Robinson Nuttall faces Lawrenceville Parkview at 7:15 p.m.
The winners will advance to the regional championship Friday at a time yet to be specified.
At Effingham
Stephen Decatur was the winner of the Class 8-4A Effingham Regional Wednesday evening.
Stephen Decatur defeated Mount Zion, 62-34 and will now face Quincy at the Chatham Glenwood Sectional Monday at 6 p.m.
