Richard I. “Ricky” Woodard age 60, of Willow Hill, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Axiom Gardens of Flora in Flora, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Ricky’s life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ste. Marie City Cemetery, Ste. Marie, Illinois.
Ricky was born on September 8, 1965, in Richland County, Illinois the son of Bernard and Geneva (Murry) Woodard. Following high school, Ricky worked for a short time at the Community Workshop in Olney. He married Kim Sanchez. He later married Elizabeth Salsbury. Ricky attended the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and New Beginnings Church. He loved music and listened to many styles on his boom box. He enjoyed playing Beep Ball for the visually impaired and was a member of the Marion Express team of Marion, Indiana.
Ricky will be loved and remembered by his mother, Geneva Woodard of Willow Hill; siblings, Jenny (Mike) Kerner of Willow Hill, Sandy (James) Dunlap of Hardinville, Bernie (Venus) Woodard of Roseburg, OR, Cliff (Carrie) Woodard of Newton, Clinton (Rohnna) Woodard of Willow Hill and Mike (Angel) Woodard of Yale; many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
His father Bernard Woodard and grandparents Harold and Marjorie Woodard and Joe and Fanny Murry preceded him in death.
