Evelyn T. Dhom, 98 of Teutopolis, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, February 2, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to the time of Mass, Monday at the church, in the St. Clare Hall. Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis.
Evelyn was born March 14, 1927 in Newton, the daughter of Leonard and Beryl (Brooks) Schackmann. She married Victor H. Dhom on February 17, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Evelyn worked for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Henry Runde, MD and Dr. Joseph Runde, DDS in Teutopolis and was a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Tom) Boatright of Foley, AL; sons, Patrick (Janet) of Teutopolis and Phil (Vicki) of St. Peters, MO; sister-in-law, Pat Schackmann of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law, Bill Dhom of Newton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; and brother, Charles Schackmann.
