Thad Michael Jurgens, 59, of Golconda, IL formally of Teutopolis, passed away on January 21, 2026.
He was born November 27, 1966, in Effingham, IL to Harold “Tubby” Jurgens and Carol (Hemrich) Jurgens.
Thad was a builder and a true master of his craft, an artist, having built more than 500 homes along with many other structures throughout his career. A man’s man, he was always there when you needed him. He was respected and admired by nearly everyone he worked for and alongside. Above all, Thad was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend.
Thad was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Tubby” Jurgens; brother, Louis Jurgens; and son, TJ Jurgens. He is survived by his wife, Tommi; his children, Jade Jurgens, Hunter (Katie) Jurgens, Lane Jurgens, and Josie Jurgens; his seven grandchildren; his sister, Amy Jurgens-Westfield; his mother, Carol Sheehan; and many other family and loved ones.
The funeral services will be Friday, January 23, 2026, with a viewing from 1:00-3:00pm and a service at 3:00pm at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Community Support Services in Teutopolis, IL.
