ST. ELMO — This game was a back and forth, back and forth contest from the start
Wednesday evening.
Coach Greg Feezel’s St. Elmo/Brownstown crew fell to Edinburg but that loss came after a hard-fought game throughout the four quarters.
Edinburg moved ahead 17-12 at the start. but the Eagles came back with a 15-7 second quarter run to move into a 27-14 halftime lead.
The Bobcats then turned the tables on St. Elmo/Brownstown with a 17-9 third quarter surge to lead 41-36.
St. Elmo/Brownstown couldn’t get over that onslaught and fell, 59-50.
Two players hit double figures for the Eagles. Graidon Wilhour scored 17 points while Jayden Hughett added 16. Both players pulled down six rebounds. Wilhour and Benji Lowe led in steals with two each. Lowe and Bentley Sanders had a block each. Dodge Willms led in assists with two.
St. Elmo/Brownstown (10-10) will play host to Mulberry Grove in an Egyptian-Illini Conference game.
