Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon on Effingham’s south side.

Effingham Police Department say the crash happened at 3:56pm. A vehicle driven by 56-year-old Nancy A. McGivney of Louisville was traveling southbound on South Banker Street and struck a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Luis A. Ramos of Miami, Florida, which was traveling eastbound on West Jaycee Avenue. McGivney, Ramos, and two juveniles in McGivney’s vehicle all sustained injuries and were transported by Rural Med EMS to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.

McGivney was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Effingham Police Department was assisted in the incident by Rural Med EMS and Effingham Fire Department.
