Dallas A. Sidwell, 75, of Altamont, died at 8:38 a.m., on Friday, January 16, 2026 at his home.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Private family burial will follow officiated by Rev. Dr. Lowell Donnelley with military rites by Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger V.F.W. Post #7676 and Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post #512. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Dallas Andrew Sidwell was born on Wednesday, February 8, 1950 to Raymond “Jimmy” and Helen (Durbin) Sidwell in St. Elmo. He married Charlene R. Donnelley on January 30, 1972 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo. Dallas was a 1968 graduate of Brownstown High School, was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont and retired from World Color Press having worked in the bindery department. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving from 1969-1971.
In addition to his wife of over 53 years, he is survived by; his sons, Patrick M. (Angel Kaul) Sidwell, Stewardson and Gregory R. (Cynthia) Sidwell, Altamont; daughter, Andrea (Chet) Draksler, Dunlap; brother, Rick Sidwell, Vancouver, WA; sisters, Ruth Ann Carpenter, Brownstown and Regina ‘Sue’ Hopkins, St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Sydni Draksler, Nathan Draksler, Maxwell Draksler, Bryant, Brent, Taylor, Makayla, Hannah, Claire, Kinley, and Emmie Sidwell.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; parents-in-law, Melvin and Helen Donnelley; brothers, Dennis, Donald, and Dale Sidwell; and granddaughter, Olivia Ryan Sidwell.
