DIETERICH — Teutopolis went on a 23-14 opening quarter run and finished with a 63-29 victory over Dieterich in boys high school basketball competition Thursday evening.
The Wooden Shoes’ Isaac McWhorter hit three long-range shots for nine points while Jake Probst also put in a three-pointer and Jason Kreke scored four as the Shoes took the nine-point lead.
Dieterich’s Bryce Bohnhoff scored eight of his team’s 14 points while Ezra Cook and Jackson Icenogle hit a three each.
T-town’s scoring went way down in the second quarter as the Shoes scored only four points while Dieterich had seven to move within 27-21 at halftime.
But the Shoes came out in the second half and got back on the scoring trail with a 21-3 run to lead 48-24. Joey Probst scored eight on two three-pointers and a regular basket while Gavin Addis hit a three.
T-town finished strong with a 15-5 final quarter.
The Shoes had only one player in double figures as Joey Probst led with 11 points on four field goals, two three-pointers and one of two at the line. T-town hit 10 threes in the contest.
Dieterich was led by Bohnhoff with three field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of three at the line for 10.
In junior varsity play, T-town was a 54-31 winner. Sam Probst led the Shoes with 16 points while Jake Probst added eight.
Dieterich was led by Silus Niland with eight.
