STRASBURG — Windsor-Stewardson-Strasburg High School handed Martinsville a 34-25 loss in girls basketball Tuesday evening.
The Hatchets moved into an 8-6 opening quarter lead as Kendra Hayes connected on two baskets and a free throw for five points and Clarissa Johnson nailed a three-pointer.
WSS held that two-point lead at halftime, 15-13. Hayes hit a three-pointer.
The Hatchets then had a 19-12 second half for the winning margin.
Hayes finished with 15 points on five field goals, two of those from beyond the arc, and three of five at the line. Lauren Longwell was next with six points.
