James A. “Jim” Mette, 78 of rural Effingham, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Willowbrook Memory Care in Effingham, surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.
