Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation recently announced the St. Francis Youth Ministry for the Catholic Heart Workcamp as the grant recipient of the Teutopolis State Bank Designated Fund.

With the grant funds, the St. Francis Youth Ministry is planning a Catholic Heart Workcamp in Fort Wayne, Indiana from June 14-19, 2026. The $1,000 grant will support their service trip. Led by Maria Kingery, the youth group aims to serve the community through various activities like painting, landscaping, teaching, and social services, while simultaneously deepening their Catholic faith and personal development. The trip is expected to expand participants’ worldviews, build compassion, develop leadership skills, and inspire ongoing mission work. Funding will be supplemented by fundraising efforts and contributions from the Knights of Columbus, Teutopolis Civic Club, and anonymous donors.

The Teutopolis State Bank Designated Fund is a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.
