Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg finished fourth at the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights Girls Basketball Classic Monday evening.
The Hatchets fell to Heritage by a 67-49 tally in the third place contest.
Heritage edged out to a 14-11 opening quarter lead. Kendra Hayes hit a three-pointer for Windsor/Stew-Stras while Claire Holland had four points.
Heritage continued to outscore the Hatchets with a 14-9 second period to lead 28-20 at halftime.
Claire VonBehrens put in a basket and a free throw for the Hatchets while Cameron Carey and Holland added a basket each and Hayes two free throws.
Clarissa Johnson connected on a three-pointer in the third quarter while Hayes went to work with a three-pointer and five of six at the line for eight points. But the Hatchets still couldn’t make a dent as Heritage had a 21-18 run and finished out with an 18-11 final quarter.
Hayes tallied 16 points for Windsor/Stew-Stras with three trifectas and seven of 10 at the line. Also in double figures was VonBehrens with 11.
In the championship contest, Rantoul downed Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond by a 49-33 score.
Fifth place went to Arthur-Okaw Christian over Chrisman, 41-20. No score reported on the seventh place game.

At Louisville
Cumberland High School’s Jude Miller went on a run through the second and third quarters as Cumberland handed North Clay a 48-23 loss Monday evening.
Miller hit four baskets and was three of three at the line in the second quarter for 11 out of her team’s 18 points as the Pirates moved into a 28-12 halftime lead.
Miller then put in a free throw, two regular baskets and a three-pointer for eight in the third quarter as the Pirates moved their lead to 42-17.
Miller finished with 21 points on eight field goals, one a three-pointer, and was four of five at the line. Also in double digits was Alysa Dittamore with 10.
North Clay was led by Violet Price with eight points on three field goals and two of two at the line.

At Sullivan
Newton moved into a 21-14 opening quarter lead and held a 54-34 lead going into the final quarter. Sullivan came roaring back but fell short as the Eagles claimed a 70-63 victory Monday evening.
Four players hit double figures for the Eagles. Grace Schumacher led the way with 19 points on nine field goals and one of one at the line. Allie Hermann added 14 points while Maddie Brummer had 12 and Izzy Meinhart 10.
Claire Probst pulled down 10 rebounds. G. Schumacher had five steals. Alani Bergbower tallied seven assists.
Newton improved to 7-5 on the season and won’t be back in action until the Merry Mule Tournament in Fairfield Friday against Wayne City at 11:30 a.m. and Mount Vernon, Ind. at 3 p.m.
Sullivan was a winner in the junior varsity contest, 44-23. Brooke Gentry led Newton with eight points as the Eagles dropped to 3-6.
