Lawrence “Larry” Dwaine Duncan, 73, of Windsor, Illinois, passed away on December 3, 2025, at home.

Larry was born on January 4, 1952, in Carroll, Iowa, to Dwaine and Norma (Cornelius) Duncan. Larry spent his formative years in Iowa, where he graduated from Coon Rapids-Bayard High School in 1970. On December 31, 1982, Larry married the love of his life, Terrie Jean Sphar, and together they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that lasted 32 years until her passing in 2015.

Larry was a devoted father to his children, Ashley Dawn (Kevin) Rincker of Strasburg, Amanda Diane (Zach Seelow) Duncan of Windsor, and Andrew Dale (Ashley) Duncan of Cerro Gordo. He adored his grandchildren, Kloey McDaniel, Zoey McDaniel, Joey McDaniel, Hudson Duncan, Colton Piraino, and Izzy Piraino, and his great-grandson, Weston McDaniel. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, always eager to share in their joys and achievements. His siblings, Randy Duncan, Kevin (Kathy) Duncan, Billy (Mary Ellen) Duncan, Patty Lenz, and Kathy
Duncan, all of Iowa, will remember Larry for his unwavering support and the deep bonds they shared. His in-laws, Jim (Twila) Sphar, Jack (Janice) Sphar, LaVay Sphar, Connie Hall, and Rick (Glenda) Sphar, along with several nieces and nephews, will also hold dear their memories of Larry’s kindness and generosity.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Terrie, his brother Maurice, his sister Diane, his nephew Brandon Duncan, and his in-laws Floyd and Irma Sphar, Bill Sphar, and Vickie Redman.

Larry’s career spanned over 30 years in agriculture retail, where his dedication and hard work were evident to all. Upon retiring in 2016, he continued to lend a hand at Rincker Farms where he oversaw the humor committee. His commitment to his faith was demonstrated through his membership at the Windsor Christian Church. Beyond his work, Larry was a man who relished the simple pleasures of life. He loved his children and extended family fiercely, and he found joy in the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Larry had a passion for travel, often exploring new places with his wife on trips earned through his professional achievements. Golfing and socializing with friends were among his favorite pastimes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
