Effingham Unit 40 school board members Wednesday approved a five-year contract with the Effingham Classroom Teachers Association.
Unit 40 Superintendent Andrew Johnson said the agreement calls for a 5.25% combined increase in salary and benefits every year for five years. The agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2025.
Johnson said, “We are coming off a four-year contract and had fallen behind due to skyrocketing inflation.” He said, “The Board is very pleased with the job being done by the staff and that the contract could be resolved.”
