STRASBURG — Stewardson-Strasburg was a winner over St. Elmo/Brownstown in junior high boys basketball competition Wednesday.
Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade game, 45-32, taking a 25-14 halftime lead.
Ashmore scored 32 points for the winners. He hit 14 field goals, that included three from beyond the arc, and one free throw.
Schaub led the way for St. Elmo/Brownstown with 17 points on six field goals and five free throws.
Stew-Stras improved to 6-0 in the National Trail Conference and 7-3 overall.
In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras ran out to a 20-7 opening quarter lead and went on for a 44-24 victory.
Richter led the way with 13 points while Pruemer had 12 and McCormick chipped in with nine.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Miller and Schnarre with seven points each.
Stew-Stras is a perfect 6-0 in the National Trail Conference and 12-0 overall.
Stew-Stras is back in action tonight at Effingham Sacred Heart with a 6 p.m. start.
