Cathy Jean Veech, 67, of Mattoon, Illinois passed away at 2:30 AM Friday, November 28, 2025 at her home with her husband.
Cathy was born March 7, 1958 to Lawrence (Swing) and Jean Hall McGahey. She married Chris Veech October 9, 1992. They had thirty three wonderful years together.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Chris; brother, Bobby (Sue) McGahey; her loving daughter, Pamela (Law) Kruckeberg and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Rick L. McGahey.
Her favorite place to be was the beach at the Mississippi Gulf coast. Her favorite past times include spending time with her dogs and taking car rides.
As per her wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and there will be a graveside at a later date.
The Swengel – O’Dell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
