This holiday season, Visit Effingham invites you to flip the switch on tradition with a magical community event! They’re trading competition for community as they transform Effingham into a twinkling wonderland for the second annual Holiday Lights & Festive Sights Tour.
Residents and businesses within the Effingham city limits are encouraged to decorate and help spread holiday cheer all season long! Entries are due by Monday, December 8th, and only 20 homes or businesses will be selected for this year’s tour. Each participating location will receive a special yard sign showcasing their involvement. To enter, residences must be fully decorated at the time of their call. A photo must also be submitted via email or direct message. To sign up, call the Effingham Tourism Office at 217-342-5310.
Beginning Friday, December 12th, gather the family and set out on a dazzling tour around town! Pick up a scorecard from Visit Effingham at City Hall – or download it from their social media channels – and cast your vote for your favorite stop by December 30th.
The People’s Choice Award Winner will receive $250.
Votes may be submitted online at Visit Effingham’s Facebook page, at www.visiteffinghamil.com, or in person at Effingham City Hall (201 E. Jefferson Ave.). Voting will be open December 12th through December 30th at noon, with the winner announced that afternoon.
