 County Board Approves Various Committee Appointments

The Effingham County Board approved a ballot question if one appeared during a government shutdown.

The Board also approved a hotel/motel fund request, and approved legislative conference attendance for County Board Chairman Josh Douthit.

Appointments were approved, including Norma Lansing and Ed Hoopingarner to new terms on the Economic Development Advisory Board, Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum to a new term on the County 911 Board, and Doug McDevitt to succeed the late Tony Siemer on the Effingham County Airport Commission.

The Board allocated Motor Fuel Tax funds for road maintenance and for the payment of the County Engineer’s salary. Also approved was the use of the historic courtyard pavilion for the “Nice List Christmas Show” on December 14, and an agreement with Farnsworth Group for engineering work at the airport. Allocation of capital improvement funding for work at the Health Department and at the County Office Building was also approved, along with acquisition of a side-by-side. Also approved was disbursement of $28,000 in revolving loan funds to new Teutopolis restaurant Siegfried’s.
