James Allen Williams, 83, of Brownstown, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at Frieden United Church of Christ Farina, IL. Kevin White will officiate. Burial will follow immediately at Farina Cemetery, Farina, Illinois. In place of flowers, memorials may be made to Brownstown VFW #9770 Brownstown, IL. or to the donor’s choice. Jimmy was born September 23, 1942, in Vandalia, Illinois, to James Wilson and Bessie Wave (Williams) Williams. He married Carolyn Sue Storck on November 14, 1969, in Farina, Illinois. After they married, Jimmy and Sue stayed in the area, making their home near Confidence Road. Jimmy loved visiting with friends and telling jokes. He spent many hours hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Family was the center stone of Jimmy’s life.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Williams, Farina, IL; two daughters: Teresa Witt of Hillsboro, IL and Lori Smithson (Brad) of Farina, IL; brother-in-law, Joe Keeman of Princeton, IN; grandchildren: Ryan Nevinger of Vandalia, IL; Kyle Nevinger (Gabrielle) of Vandalia, IL: Brady Witt of Hillsboro, IL: and Shelby Smithson of Farina, IL.; great-grandchildren: Kennedy Nevinger, Kyler Nevinger, Alaina Nevinger of Vandalia, IL.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Wenonah Keenan.
