Community members gathered to explore HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s new Center for Pediatric Therapy at an open house Nov. 13 showcasing the region’s first and only comprehensive dedicated pediatric therapy center. The evening kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, including hospital leadership and St. Anthony’s Rehabilitation and Wellness team members.

Located at 904 Medical Park Drive in Effingham, the Center for Pediatric Therapy represents a transformative expansion in pediatric health care for the region. The 4,600-square-foot facility offers innovative treatment in a child-friendly environment designed to promote development, improve mobility and encourage independence.

The Center for Pediatric Therapy offers specialized care for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, developmental delays, traumatic brain injuries and other congenital conditions. Advanced therapies include pediatric pelvic floor therapy, intensive therapy with the Universal Exercise Unit (SpiderCage), TOT Savvy for tongue ties, sensory processing interventions, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and advanced pediatric feeding therapy.

“We’re thrilled to bring this specialized center to our region – there’s nothing else like it in Effingham, Coles or the surrounding counties,” said Tammy Probst, Director of Rehabilitation and Wellness at St. Anthony’s. “Families no longer have to travel hours for the specialized pediatric therapy their children need. By offering treatment in a child-friendly environment designed to accommodate their age, developmental stage and therapeutic requirements, we can help kids thrive right here in their own community.”
