 Effingham Veterans Day Observance Set for Tuesday Morning

The 2025 Effingham Veterans Day observance is set for Tuesday morning.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the Effingham Courthouse Lawn Memorial. Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 and Ladies Auxiliary Unit 7 of Effingham are the host organizations.

DAV Commander Dave Althoff will serve as Master of Ceremonies. St. John’s Lutheran Church Pastor Rev. Mike Burdick will offer the invocation and deliver the benediction. Charlie and Bob McWhorter will oversee the raising of the colors and Pat and Julie Zuber will present the National Anthem. The guest speaker will be Veterans Service Officer Josh Layton. Sergeant-at-Arms Bill Copple will lead the 21-gun salute. Matt Stead will play “Taps”.

A meal will be served at the DAV Club Room at 405 Vulcan Drive in Effingham following the ceremony.
