The Effingham Water Authority Board awarded a bid for the next phase of beach improvements at Lake Sara.

Elevate Excavating was the low of four bidders on the improvements at $146,000. The award is pending approval from Anthony Jansen of Farnsworth Group and Water Authority attorney Kyle Boose.

The Board also approved updated language to the Capitalization Policy, and approved the purchase of a used backhoe from the City of Effingham for $35,000.

Board members also met to review options regarding agreements and negotiations with Wabash Communications.

There was also discussion regarding the Topp Acres roadway. Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks will check whether Larry Heuerman Trucking has the equipment to be able offer a quote on the project.
