Effingham Park Board commissioners discussed the tax levy ordinance for the coming fiscal year at this week’s meeting.

The levy is projected at $1,650,000. That’s up from $1,571,586 last year. Park District Director Jeff Althoff said a final vote on the levy will come at the December meeting.

As far as capital projects, Althoff said the pond area at the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex is about completed. Some dirt work might need done.

Work to complete the skate park at Hendelmeyer Park should get started this month. The work was awarded in September.

Althoff also said that Effingham Asphalt is wrapping up work on the tennis courts at Community Park. Painting the courts will likely be delayed until the spring.
