                    Betty Jane Hinterscher, age 87, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 7:56 PM – Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Villas of Holly Brook in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM – Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Pastor Dean Herberts officiating. Burial will be in the Hinterscher Family Cemetery in rural Ingraham, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM, until service time. Betty Jane was born on September 17, 1938, in Coles, County, Illinois, the daughter of Berlie and Beatrice (Lawrence) Price. She married Raymond L. Hinterscher on August 31, 1960, in Lerna, Illinois. They enjoyed 51years of marriage until his passing on April 2, 2012.
Betty was a loving wife and mother, raising 3 children on the farm that she and Raymond tended. They enjoyed horses and always had an assortment of other animals. She spent hours tending to her garden. Her love of people led her to Newton and Effingham nursing facilities where she worked as the Activity Director for many years. She was a faithful volunteer at Catholic Charities in Teutopolis, Illinois in her later years. Through her service to them and her servant heart, she was recognized as the Effingham County Volunteer of the Year in 2018, an honor she was deeply proud of.
Betty attended Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois.
Betty is survived by her Children- Ray (wife Cindy) Hinterscher of Dieterich, Illinois; Eugene (wife Pam) Hinterscher of McKinney, Texas and Penny (husband Wesley) Phipps of Benton, Illinois
Grandchildren – Cody (wife Michelle) Hinterscher; Dalton (wife Shelby); Katie Hinterscher; Benjamin (wife Tracy) Phipps and Courtney (husband Bill) Hunt
12 Great Grandchildren – Makenna, Addy, Brooklyn, Aubree, Maverick, Gunner, Deklan, Eryn, Harper, Jack, Halle, and Maisie
Brother – William “Dave” Davis Price (wife Velma) of Mattoon, Illinois
Sister-in-law – Toni Price
Her beloved cat – Tiger
Betty was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, brothers Wendell Price and Wayne Price and sister-in-law Shirley Price.
