TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis claimed victories over Taylorville and Mahomet-Seymour in girls junior high basketball competition Saturday.
The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest against Taylorville by a 38-19 count. Bloemer and P. Ruholl scored 10 points each for the Shoes.
T-town trailed 5-4 after the opening quarter but led 16-9 at halftime and never looked back.
In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 51-25 winner.
T-town held a 23-11 halftime lead and had a 28-14 second half.
G. Probst scored 15 for the Shoes while A. Meyer tallied 12. The eighth-graders improved to 11-1.
Teutopolis then defeated Mahomet-Seymour 22-16 in seventh-grade play. The Shoes trailed 11-8 at halftime but had a 14-5 second half.
Bloemer led the way with eight points as the team improved to 13-1.
In the eighth-grade game, T-town ripped out to a 27-8 halftime lead and went on for a 39-19 victory.
G. Probst and R. Zerrusen scored 11 each for the Shoes who are now 12-2 on the season.

Monday, Oct. 27 Results
Effingham and Richland County, Olney split victories in junior high girls basketball competition Monday evening.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game, 23-19.
Effingham took a 16-10 halftime lead then held Olney scoreless in the second half.
Anna Gouchenour led the way for the Mustangs with 10 points as the team improved to 6-2.
In eighth-grade action, Olney claimed a 38-26 winner.
Effingham took an 11-6 opening quarter lead and led 16-12 at halftime. But Olney came roaring back with a 26-7 second half.
The Mustangs were led by Anna Gouchenouer with 10 points. The team dropped to 3-5 on the season.

Neoga split victories with Pana Sacred Heart Monday evening.
Neoga claimed a 25-20 win in seventh-grade play. The winners moved into a 16-8 halftime lead then held off Sacred Heart in the second half.
N. Hartke led the winners with 15 points.
In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga fell by a 39-31 count.
Pana led the way at halftime 20-10 and held off Neoga in the second half.
Bliss Bear led the way in scoring for Neoga with 13 points.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was a winner over Dieterich in seventh-grade play but Dieterich claimed the eighth-grade contest Monday evening.
CHBC won 22-18 to improve to 4-2 in the National Trail Conference and 8-5 overall.
Aubree Towler led the way with 10 points.
Dieterich was led by Ali Koester with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals.
In eighth-grade action, Dieterich won 40-15. Dieterich held a 24-2 halftime lead.
The Roadrunners were led by Emery Bill with 12 points and Lydia Kreke with 10. Kreke led in rebounds with 11. Bill had four steals.
CHBC was led by Reece Vaughn with six points.
