Marilyn June Hartke, 78, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek, with burial in the church cemetery.  A CCW rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 6:00 pm, Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to Crisis Nursery of Effingham County.
Marilyn was born July 13, 1947 in Effingham, the daughter of Andrew and Genevieve (Miller) Hartke.  She worked and retired from World Color Press in Effingham after many years of service. Many knew her as Marilyn but those closest to her only knew her as “Junnie”. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. She loved shopping and going on trips with her family and friends. She especially loved going to the zoo and Branson, MO to see Daniel O’Donnell in concert. She had a special place in her heart for all children and pets, especially her loyal dog Charlie. She was a special person who will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Ron (Marylynn) Hartke of Teutopolis, as well as many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Sue Ann (Andrew) Willenborg, John (Carol Ann) Hartke, Carol Jean (Jerry) Brant, Nancy Spelbring, and Judy Reeder; niece, Brenda Reiss and great-nephew, Andrew Spelbring.
