ST. ELMO — St. Elmo/Brownstown captured the championship of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Volleyball Tournament Thursday evening.
The Eagles handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City the loss in the title contest, 25-15 25-18.
Addie Sasse led the team in kills with 10 and assists with 12. Peyton Barker had three blocked shots, nine digs and three aces
The Eagles now stand at 18-12 on the season. It was the third straight EIC Tournament championship.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was led by Allison Shields with six kills and six digs, Gracie Wright with 13 assists, Timber Watson with two aces and Jalizah Bowlin and Gabrielle Wakefield with one block each.
The third place match went to Ramsey over Martinsville, 25-16, 25-23.
The fifth place match was claimed by Mulberry Grove over Patoka/Odin, 25-16, 25-18.

At Paris
Newton High School is the Little Illini Conference co-champions.
Newton won over Paris Thursday evening and ended the conference season as the Little Illini Conference co-champions.
The Eagles defeated Paris 25-16, 25-19 and now stands at 20-15 overall.
Schackmann led in aces with two. Bierman had 10 kills. Shull led the team in assists with 11. Hermann, Schafer and Bierman had 10 digs each. Wagner and Bierman led in blocks with two each.

Altamont played host to Cumberland and was a winner in two sets, 25-21, 25-21 Thursday.
Riley Rippetoe led the Indians in assists with 13, digs with seven and blocks with two.
Laila Hankins also had two blocks. Avery Aldrich led in kills with seven.

At Centralia
South Central defeated Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran in two sets Thursday evening.
The Cougars won 25-15, 25-22. Sophia Wodtka led in aces with two and assists with 19. Addisyn Sigrist had 12 digs. Mya Schaal finished with six kills.
South Central’s junior varsity team also won 25-8, 25-15 and improved to 13-4.
The varsity Cougars are now 14-14 on the season.

Cisne downed North Clay in varsity action Thursday.
North Clay won the opener 27-25 but Cisne came back with 25-14, 25-22 scores for the win.
The Cardinals drop to 9-23 on the season.
In junior varsity play, North Clay was a winner 25-22, 25-22.
