Paul Russell Davidson, age 64, of Sailor Springs, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
He was born May 9, 1961, in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, the son of Franklin Leon and Linda (Harris) Davidson. He was united in marriage to Misty Renee Wiegel on September 17, 2022, at Christ’s Church in Flora. Paul had worked in the shipping department at North American Lighting in Flora for over 20 years. He had also worked as a C.N.A. at Flora Gardens Care Center and at the Flora Airport. Paul had acquired his pilot’s license and had taken several cross country trips with friends. Music was his passion, and he was an accomplished drummer, playing at several area venues and churches over the years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Misty Davidson of Sailor Springs; mother: Linda Davidson of Sailor Springs; son: Brett Harley Davidson of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter: Ciara Lynn Davidson of Terre Haute, Indiana; stepdaughter: Allison Henderson of Sailor Springs; 2 grandsons: Ayden Davidson and Arron Davidson, both of Terre Haute, Indiana; 3 step-grandchildren: Gavyn, Aaron, and Avery Henderson of Sailor Springs; aunts and uncles: Trudy Harris of Alabama, Tom (Gayle) Harris of Clay City, Fred (Peggy) Harris of Clay City, and Wayne Harris of Clay City; and cousins: Scott Harris, Joshua Harris, Ryan Harris, Laura, Sara, and Jeff Gusick, Shaun Harris, and Shana Harris.
He was preceded in passing by his father; a sister: Buffie Suzanne Davidson; paternal grandparents: Jake J. and Mary Alice Davidson; maternal grandparents: Russell and Frances Harris; an uncle: George (Mick) Harris; 2 aunts: Bonnie Harris and Josephine Harris; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Sailor Springs Christian Church with Tim Schnautz and Gene Birch officiating. A visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
