Mason resident Nathan Williams has been sentenced to five years in prison for burglary from a break-in earlier this year.

The 49-year-old Williams was arrested in February for a burglary of Fas Mart, the former Beerport, in Edgewood.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and found the front door shattered. A K9 searched the building and the sheriff’s office drone searched the area for evidence. Williams was located near Legion Lake in Edgewood about two hours later.

Williams Thursday will serve six months’ mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
