The Effingham Noon Rotary Club gave generously to collect shoes for young people.

The effort is part of Rotary District Governor John Calderon’s “Shoes for Orphan Souls” collection. Noon Rotary contributed 51 pairs of shoes plus $380 to purchase additional shoes. Governor John attended Noon Rotary’s September 24 meeting to collect the shoes and cash.

The District Governor also oversaw the creation of a third Rotary club in Effingham. The club will meet downtown at Wheat Penny twice a month in the evenings. The arrangement will give Effingham a Rotary club that meets morning, noon and night.

Also present was the Rotary weekly student guest, Abby Feldhake, daughter of Danny and Jill Feldhake and a senior at Effingham High School.
