 Junior High Girls Basketball — Oct. 4 & 6 Results

Effingham Junior High School claimed two girls basketball victories Monday evening over Pana Sacred Heart.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 24-14. Pana Sacred Heart held a 6-2 opening quarter lead and led 9-7 at halftime. But the Mustangs rallied with a 17-5 second half for the win.

Alivia Lauritzen scored 10 points for the winners while Tinley Paxton added six. The seventh-grade is now 3-0 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham was a 27-18 winner. The Mustangs held a 13-7 halftime lead and went on for a 14-11 second half.

Cloie Bailey led the winners with 12 points. The eighth-grade improved to 1-2.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael picked up two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg Monday.

The Sharpshooters won the sevemth-grade game, 30-22, taking a 17-10 halftime lead. Krampe led the way with 10 points.

Stew-Stras was led by Laney Barnard with 10 points. Stew-Stras fell to 2-3 on the season.

In eighth-grade action, St. Michael won 47-13. B. Niebrugge led the way with 16 points while Walk added 15.

Stew-Stras was led by Izzy Manhart with four. The eighth-graders dropped to 2-2 on the season.

At Oblong

Dieterich was a winner over Oblong in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Monday.

Dieterich won the seventh-grade contest 18-16. Ali Koester, Jenna Bohnhoff and Makayla Meinhart scored six points each for the winners. Koester led in rebounds with 11, steals with five and assists with two. She also had one blocked shot.

In eighth-grade play, Dieterich was an easy 44-8 winner.

Dieterich ran out to an 18-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

The winners were led by Lydia Kreke with 10 points and Mackenzie Roedl with nine. Roedl led in rebounds with seven. Emma Williams had two assists. Ava Benefiel and Roedl led in steals with three each.

At Taylorville

Teutopolis competed in the Taylorville Invitational Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won 32-17 over Highland in seventh-grade play and 35-18 in eighth-grade competition.

The Shoes scoring was G. Probst 10, P. Dennis 7, R. Zerrusen 6, A. Meyer 5, P. Ruholl 3, E. Murray 2, S. Grunloh 2.

T-town then took on Staunton and won 27-25 in the seventh-grade and fell 40-16 in eighth-grade play.

R. Zerrusen scored eight while A. Meyer and G. Probst had four each for the Shoes.
