Quinton Anthony “Tony” Siemer (81) of Effingham

Quintin Anthony “Tony” Siemer, 81 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 am  to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a celebration of Tony’s life being held at 1:00 pm at the Gabby Goat in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Effingham CEO Program.
He was born February 29, 1944 in Effingham, the son of Quintin A. and Marie L. (Schottman) Siemer. Tony earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Illinois and went on to graduate from the University of Notre Dame School of Law in 1969. Following his graduation, he joined his uncle, Joseph B. Siemer, at the law firm of Siemer & Dehn. After his uncle’s passing, Tony merged his practice, which was later known as Parker, Siemer, Austin, Reuch and Fuhr. On August 24, 1974, he married Diana Taylor.
He was a dedicated member of the Effingham County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Throughout his career, Tony served the Illinois State Bar Association as an Assembly member and contributed to several section councils. Tony also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for eminent domain and was recognized among Leading Lawyers for his professional excellence.
Deeply involved in his community, Tony served on the Board of Directors of Midland States Bank and its holding company, Midland States Bancorp. He chaired the Effingham County Airport Commission and, until his retirement in 2024, served as attorney for the Water Authority. He was also a member of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and a former member of the Effingham Rotary Club and the Effingham Country Club.
Tony is survived by his wife, Diana; children, Jacob (fiance, Carmen) Siemer, Quintin (Kristina) Siemer, Ben (Shannon) Siemer, and step-children, Georgia Brown, Phil (Donna) Brown; grandchildren, Ashton Siemer, Quintin Aleksandrs Siemer, Erika Siemer, Isabella Siemer, Seth McMurray, Austin Siemer, Sophia Siemer, Benson Siemer, Hilery Carr, Karissa Hankins, Kaleb Brown, and Houston Brown; great-grandchildren, Dustin Carr, Emily, Nolan, Payson Hankins, Maxine and Ammon Brown; brother, Rick (Diane) Siemer; sisters, Mickey Passalacqua and Cathy (Bob) Goldstein.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Larry Passalacqua, nephew, Mike Passalacqua, and great-niece, Chloe Passalacqua.
