 Wooden Shoes Down Indians In High School Baseball Action

Teutopolis High School edged out to a 4-0 lead on Neoga and went on to end the game in the fifth inning, 13-2 in baseball action Wednesday.

The Wooden Shoes finished with an 18-hit attack.  Gavin Addis led he way with two singles, a double and four RBI. Davin Worman added a single and double, Aidan Niemerg two singles and two RBI, Nolan Schumacher with two singles and an RBI, Austin Borries with two singles, Jason Kreke and Eric Weidner had a single and two RBI each and Alex Grunloh added a single and an RBI.

Meanwhile, Addis kept the Indians in check. He went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out six. Bryce Niebrugge came on to finish out the last inning, giving up two walks and striking out two. Addis is now 6-0 on the mound.

Neoga had four hits led by Braylon Sparrow with a home run and two RBI and Cayden Hakman with a double.

Teutopolis improved to 20-1 for the fall while Neoga dropped to 7-10-1. The Wooden Shoes are back in action today at Paul Smith Field against Effingham St. Anthony at 4:30 p.m. The game can be heard on KJ Country 102.3.

Neoga won’t return to play until Monday at the National Trail Conference Tournament, traveling to Altamont for a 4 p.m. contest.
