Teutopolis, North Clay Split High School Baseball Victories 

LOUISVILLE — North Clay/Clay City played host to Teutopolis Saturday and the two teams played two high school baseball games.

The first game was the championship game from last week’s Cardinal Classic.

The Wooden Shoes ended up claiming the title with a 5-2 win over North Clay.

T-town tallied three runs in the second and two in the fifth. North Clay’s runs came in the sixth.

The Shoes had eight hits led by Davin Worman with two singles, a home run and three RBI. Austin Borries added a single, double and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Borries kept the Cardinals off the base paths. He tossed a five-hitter with no walks and struck out 11.

The Cardinals were led by Cody Zimdars with a single, double and an RBI and Ian Jones with a single and an RBI.

In the second game, North Clay edged the Wooden Shoes 4-3.

T-town held a 3-0 lead after three innings before the Cardinals started their comeback with a single run in the fourth then tacked on another run in the fifth and two in the sixth to pull out the 4-3 win.

North Clay was led by Carder Walden with a home run and two RBI and Cayden Craig with two singles and an RBI. Trenton Ingram had an RBI.

Jones was the winning pitcher. He came on in relief and went 4.2 innings, giving up no runs on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

Worman led the Shoes with two doubles while Kendall Mette had two singles and an RBI. Borries added a single and an RBI.

Teutopolis is now 18-1 for the fall. North Clay is 15-5.

T-town returns to action Monday hosting Dieterich. North Clay travels to Wayne City Monday.
