South Central, Dieterich, North Clay Win In High School Baseball Friday

KINMUNDY — South  Central edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead but this game went 10 innings before the Cougars pulled out a 3-2 victory over Neoga in high school baseball action Friday.

The Cougars held a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Neoga came back to tie the score at 2-2 in the top of the sixth. South Central then won the contest in the bottom of the 10th.

South Central had eight hits led by Chase Guerrettaz with a single, double and two RBI and Hudson Moore with two doubles. Colton Tockstein added an RBI.

Moore picked up the pitching victory. He came on in the sixth inning and went three innings, giving up no runs on three hits, two walks and struck out four.

Neoga was led by Grady Haarman with three singles and an RBI and Evan Fearday with an RBI.

At Dieterich

Dieterich ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule by a 13-3 count over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday.

The Movin’ Maroons edged out to a 2-0 opening inning lead then had another two-run inning in the second. CHBC came back with two runs in the top of the third but Dieterich led 5-2 after the bottom of the frame then had six runs in the fourth and ended the game with two in the fifth.

Dieterich finished with 12 hits and was aided by seven Bobcat errors.

Jackson Icenogle, Dominic Ashley and Bryce Bohnhoff had two singles and two RBI each while Andrew Hall and Mason Lidy added two singles and an RBI each. Gavin Meinhart finished with a single and an RBI and Justin Boerngen an RBI.

Ashley went the five innings, giving up three runs on five hits, two walks and striking out nine.

The Bobcats were led in hitting by Daithyn Arnold and Isaac Wells with a double each and Cayden Ondes with a single and an RBI. Ben Askins added two RBI.

At Dieterich

At Louisville

North Clay handed  Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg a 4-2 loss Friday.

The Cardinals improved to 6-1 in the National Trail Conference, 14-4 overall.
