Susan “Susie” Ann Waldhoff (71) of Avon, Indiana, formerly of Dieterich

Susan “Susie” Ann Waldhoff (71) of Avon, Indiana, formerly of Dieterich, Illinois unexpectedly passed away Tuesday evening September 23, 2025 at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville, Indiana.

She was born March 17, 1954 in Effingham, Illinois to Arthur “Art” Victor and Lavanda Mae (Bannick) Joergens. Mike Waldhoff made her his bride on April 12, 1975 in Effingham, Illinois. This year marked their 50th anniversary and they celebrated in Hawaii surrounded by all of their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her time at United Airlines and definitely took advantage of the travel benefits making it to 5 different continents. She loved teaching Sunday School, sewing, gardening, traveling, and being a grandma, but her faith in God and love of her family were the most important aspects in her life.

Susie will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike Waldhoff of Avon, Indiana; children, Stasha Waldhoff of Camby, Indiana, Tiffany Wood (Justin) of Camby, Indiana, Jared Waldhoff (Anna) of Coatesville, Indiana and Heidi Enlow (Ryan) of Eagle River, Alaska; grandchildren, Haylee Waldhoff, Amelia Dickens, Riley Waldhoff, Jaden Enlow and Traylie Enlow; sisters, Judy Hopper of Belleville, Illinois and Karen Grupe (Don) of Watson, Illinois; brothers Stanley Joergens (Olivia) of Dieterich, Illinois and Stuart Joergens (Jackie) of Shelbyville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She is joining her parents, Art and Lavanda Joergens; father and mother in law, John and Dorothy Waldhoff; granddaughter, Callie Enlow; and nephew, Sgt. Nickolas Lee Hopper in Heaven.

A Celebration Of Life will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday September 30, 2025 with a service at 7:00 PM in the Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel in Avon, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025 in the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2025 and Thursday October 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM until service time also at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham, Illinois.

Memorials are suggested to the Effingham County 4-H 1209 N Wenthe Dr. Effingham, IL 62401, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Eberle, IL or Mt. Olive Quilt Ministry at 5171 W Smokey Row Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143.
