Norma Jean Strohl, 81, of Mt. Zion, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Norma leaves behind her sons, Kurt Norville (Glenda) of Herrick, Mark Norville (Michelle) of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Brad Norville of Indianapolis, Indiana; her grandson, Collin Benson of
Midland, Michigan; her granddaughters, Karissa Norville of Avon, Indiana, and Kari Marston of Ramsey; her great-grandson, Bandy Fry; her sisters, Peggy Smith of Taylorville, Barbara Shultz of Mt. Zion, and Florence Dammerman, of Mattoon and seven nieces and nephews.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde “Zeke” and Ora “Lucille” Strohl and her brothers, Billy, Darrell and Dale Strohl.

Norma worked for many years at Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, providing care to those that needed it with love and compassion. Norma had many titles such as sister, aunt, and friend but her most cherished title was mom. She had a gift of bringing joy to others day by day and making the world a much brighter place with her warm and gentle way and sense of humor. Those that met her, liked her and those who knew her, loved her. Mom, you have a place within our hearts that no one else will ever fill. You are the dear and special mother that we love and always will, with all our love Kurt, Mark and Brad.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
