REGIONAL SEPT. 11 SCORES
Class 1A Albion Regional
South Central banged out 11 hits and downed West Salem 9-1 to advance to the championship game of the Class 1A Albion Softball Regional Thursday.
Jayda Neilson had a single, double and two RBI for the winners while Claire Chasteen had three singles and two RBI. Skylar Webster added a double, Ophie Lowry had two singles and Rylan Williams a single and an RBI.
Webster went the distance on the mound, giving up one run on four hits, two walks while striking out eight.
In the game three, Dieterich blanked Oblong, 4-0.
Dieterich and South Central will now square off for the regional championship Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roy M Luthe Memorial Park in Albion.

Class 1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Neoga and Martinsville will be playing for the championship of the Sigel St. Michael Regional after both were winners Thursday.
Martinsville edged Mattoon St. John’s, 4-3 in the first game.
In the second contest, Neoga put together 11 runs and ended this game over St. Anthony in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule, 11-1.
Neoga had three-run innings in the first and fifth around two in the second and fourth and one in the third.
Mackie White led Neoga in hits with three singles and an RBI while Bliss Bear added two singles and two RBI, Kyndall Mars two singles and an RBI, Kinsey Bell a single and two RBI and Nora Hartke and Addelyn Eubanks with a single and an RBI each.
White also was the winning pitcher, going four innings, giving up one run on two hits, three walks while striking out five.
St. Anthony was led by Mary Hoke and Morgan Lustig with a single each.

Class 2A Altamont Regional
Pana and Greenville will be playing for the championship of the Altamont Regional.
Pana was a 2-0 winner over Altamont in the opener Thursday.
The two teams were scoreless through five innings before Pana edged ahead 2-0 and that’s all in took.
Altamont finished with three hits in the game, all singles by Blaire Suckow, Addison Neu and Zoey Kramer.
Greenville then edged Shelbyville Moulton, 6-5.
Pana and Greenville will square off at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.

Class 2A Robinson Nuttall Regional
Teutopolis fell to Robinson Nuttall by a 12-1 count the opening game Thursday.
The second contest went to Jasper County over Red Hill (Bridgeport), 6-4.
Robinson Nuttall and Jasper County will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional title.
Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional
Cumberland trounced Marshall by a 15-0 count in the opening game Thursday at the Casey-Westfield Regional.
In the second contest, the host Casey-Westfield won over Windsor, 7-1.
Cumberland and Casey-Westfield meet for the regional title Saturday at 11 a.m.
Class 3A Mount Zion Regional
Effingham will be playing for the championship of the Mount Zion Regional.
The Mustangs trailed Mattoon 6-2 after two innings before coming back with three runs in the third and tying the score n the fourth. then in the fifth and sixth innings, Effingham put the game away with two runs in each inning.
Effingham finished with 10 hits led by Mia Hartke with two singles and four RBI, Madalyn Hoffman with a double, Tinley Patton with two singles and an RBI, Cloie Bailey with a single and two RBI and Miley Wilson with a single and an RBI.
Bailey went five innings for the pitching win. She gave up six runs on eight hits, no walks and struck out eight.
In the second game, Mount Zion edged Monticello, 16-15.
Effingham and Mount Zion meet at 10 a.m. for the regional championship Saturday.
