St. Anthony High School competitors at the Chrisman Cow Chip Classic.
CHRISMAN — Effingham St. Anthony’s Isabella Keller and Aubrey Denning broke records in their flights at the Chrisman Cow Chip Cross Country Classic last week.
The Cow Chip is run in flights with all the boys and all the girls in different flights.
Keller, competing in Flight One, finished with a record time of 16:24.89, breaking her own record. In the Cow Chip last year, Keller broke her sister Anna Sophia’s record.
Aubrey Denning broke the record in Flight Two, with a time of 17:38.28.
Also competing for the Bulldogs were Emeline Wines 15th in 20:34.57, Nora Niebrugge 44th in 23:30.19 and Taylor Denning 75th in 27:05.61 overall.
The St. Anthony boys also competed. Camden Bloemer was 11th overall in 16:46.75, Oliver Kreke 17th in 17:18.32, Isaac Tays 18th in 17:25.42, Julius Ramos 19th in 17:27.83 and Elijah Whittier 33rd in 18:10.58.
In fifth-grade girls action, overall, Sigel St. Michael’s Nora Schumacher won for the girls in 13:44.80. Also competing for St. Michael were Vayda Walk third in 14:31.64, Quincy Durdel 14th in 18:23.06 and Irelyn Dittamore 16th in 18:42.789.
In the fifth-grade boys race, St. Michael’s Will Dasenbrock finished second in 13:43.95, Jack Sudcamp fourth in 14:18.71, Kalvin Deters 10th in 15:45.65 and Izzy Whittlier 19th in 16:37.86.
In sixth-grade action, St. Michael’s Violet Walk won with a time of 13:20.52. Also competing was Madalie Hoene sixth in 14:09.67.
St. Anthony sixth-grade girls were, Josie Ludwig 16th in 15:04.02, Anna Mae Scheidemantel 26th in 15:57.92, Emma Willenborg 35th in 16:57.89, Lucy Tegler 45th in 18:23.61 and Sienna Kaufmann 55th in 18:52.
For the St. Anthony boys, Logan Lustig was second in 12:54.54, Rhett Douthit third in 12:59.75, Ryker Douthit 32nd in 15:31.44, Dylan Verdeyen 34th in 15:32.51 and Lucas Beck 56th in 17:12.08.
In the seventh-grade girls race, St. Anthony’s Maeve Niebrugge finished fourth in 13:38.27 and Morgan Kabbes 14th in 14:31.07.
Sigel St. Michael runners were Reece Niebrugge 15th in 14:40.14, Alicia Rivas 21st in 15:10.47, Molli Dasenbrock 22nd in 15:23.58, Kinsley Haarman 30th in 15:58.39 and Amelia Dunbar 62nd in 20:52.32.
In the boys seventh-grade race, St. Anthony’s Will Ludwig was 14th in 12:44.60, Owen Gillenwater 51st in 15:07.31 and Nathan Bailey 62nd in 16:25.60.
St. Michael’s Simon Miller was 32nd in 14:00.48.
St. Anthony eighth-grade girls who competed were Sylvia Semple sixth in 13:16.61, Bella Schultz eighth in 13:39.73 and Amelia Janis 20th in 14:40.46.
St. Michael’s Brianna Niebrugge was 28th in 15:09.16 and Ruby Walk 74th in 18:24.32.
In the boys eighth-grade race, St. Anthony’s Max Schuette was seventh in 11:33.81, Braxton Schultz 24th in 12:29.53, Grayson Bloemer 36th in 13:04.98, Marty Scheidemantel was 50th in 13:49.71 and Ben Sudkamp 74th in 14:55.68.
For Sigel St. Michael, Brady Rivas was 50th in 13:49.71, Griffin Strohl 76th in 14:56.58 and Auggie Jansen 88th in 16:52.08.
